Relaunch of Sports’ Most Celebrated Literary Series

In light of the COVID-19 situation, the Great Fenway Park Writers Series will be hosting this event virtually.

JUNE 24th, 7-8 p.m. EASTERN

Save the date: Thursday, June 24, at 7 p.m. for our next event featuring “Talking to GOATs: The Moments You Remember and the Stories You Never Heard” by author and award-winning broadcaster Jim Gray. A 12-time Emmy Award-winner and Hall of Fame broadcaster, Gray has been a must-listen in New England for his exclusive interviews with Tom Brady on Westwood One during halftime of Monday Night Football games. But Gray has had a career with few rivals as a master interviewer of some of the most towering figures in sports over the last four decades, and in “GOATS,” he reveals the inside stories and memorable moments of the famous legends he has covered, including Brady, Muhammad Ali, Hank Aaron, Pete Rose, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Mike Tyson, Michael Jordan and Michael Phelps, among others.

Gray offers a master class in what it means to have great access to iconic athletes, how to gain their trust, and how to conduct interviews with fairness, integrity and accuracy. His book reaches beyond the world of sports while introducing such world leaders as George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Mikhail Gorbachev and others. We anticipate this to be a special night, with perhaps our biggest audience ever, and we know you will be in for an unforgettable evening of great storytelling.

The Great Fenway Park Writers Series would like to encourage you to make use of the great local bookstores in your community! For this event, we have partnered with Frugal Bookstore in Roxbury.

If you don’t live in Boston, you might consider looking for an independent bookstore closer to home.
